21/10/2013 - Cambridge University
It
was such an honor to have dinner at the senior fellows table in
Cambridge and to have such a wonderful presentation of mine come to a
close by having then been invited for a meal with some of the most
influential people in academia is a very privileged moment for me. I
worked so hard to be able to be in this type of environment and not at
all feel I could not be on par with any of them. In fact, they all
seemed to need to have me talk to them, so I was by far the most swamped
guest. Loved it, but back to my normal life with Jesse and Pokes along
with our quiet life...
Thank you to all the nice folks sending me messages. It matters.

18/10/2013 - St. George's School, Harpenden
What a
HUGE response from St. George's School in Harpenden. I was absolutely
blown away by the rapt attention and warm response. I loved meeting
students who once again showed me their bright instincts and wonderful
sense of humor. I want to thank the School staff for all of their
kindness and especially my friend Sally Priestland who believed in me
enough to welcome me to the school today. Thank you so very much to all
who attended today's speech...WOW!

13/10/13 - Speakers Corner, Hyde Park, London
A man stood before me as I spoke in Hyde Park today. He patiently
encouraged me to try to ignore small miscues and to focus on my over all
effort when I got flustered and stopped at one point...
How genuinely nice of this complete stranger to give me criticism to better enable me to speak. I was trying too hard to be what I am not...rehearsed in any way. I just turned to him after that, and I directly addressed him as if I truly needed him above all others to get what I was saying. I really needed that. I had never brought a film crew to video tape me speaking and I knew I was a bit off by that happening so that was why I had been struggling to get it right.

Time and again I felt so much better because of the patience
and care shown by those around me in the park, just as this man named
Steven did for me. I love it that once again I have learned to be better
at speaking because someone had the compassion to offer me insight and
support.
I truly believe that if I get a fair chance, that I can do this well. I just need that one break.
All the best to those who were there today in Hyde Park.
Thank you,
Nick

6/10/13 - Speakers Corner, Hyde Park, London
What an extraordinary day...
What an extraordinary day...Left at 6:30 am to go to London, went to Speaker's corner...2 and a half hours of speaking later, I was wrung out...At times I had it down and it flowed. Oh and I had a few times off but over all? I had crowds of 50 and 60 captivated, and rewarding me with applause afterwards. As soon as I ended it, argument broke out amongst others who began to speak. Funny how that begins...but not for me, every run through I found nothing but respect and love from those who stopped. I needed to day, I needed to prove to myself I can get complete strangers to hear me on very good levels. Thanks Pope, without you by my side today, I would have sorely struggled to do this. Nite all, I am on a good vibe and feeling a bit better for today...
